Job Description: Principal at Wah Medical College Wah Cantt
Description: The Wah Medical College, located in Wah Cantt, is seeking a dynamic and experienced individual to fill the position of Principal. The Principal will be responsible for providing strategic leadership and overseeing the overall administration, academic excellence, and growth of the college.
Key Responsibilities:
- Academic Leadership: Provide visionary leadership in setting academic goals and standards, designing and implementing curriculum, ensuring effective teaching and learning methods, and promoting academic excellence among faculty and students.
- Administrative Oversight: Manage the day-to-day operations of the college, including human resources, financial management, facilities management, and student services. Ensure compliance with relevant laws, regulations, and policies.
- Strategic Planning: Develop and implement strategic plans to enhance the reputation and standing of the college, promote research and innovation, and achieve the college's mission and vision.
- Faculty Development: Provide mentorship, guidance, and support to faculty in their professional development, including recruitment, training, performance evaluation, and promotion. Foster a culture of continuous improvement and innovation in teaching and research.
- Student Affairs: Promote a student-centered environment conducive to learning, personal growth, and professional development. Oversee student recruitment, admissions, orientation, academic counseling, and extracurricular activities.
- Stakeholder Relations: Build and maintain positive relationships with relevant stakeholders, including faculty, students, staff, parents, alumni, industry partners, and government agencies. Represent the college in external forums and events.
- Quality Assurance: Ensure compliance with national and international quality assurance standards in education, research, and healthcare. Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of academic programs and support services, and implement improvements as needed.
Qualifications:
- MBBS degree from a recognized institution, with a postgraduate qualification (e.g., MD, MS, M.Phil, Ph.D.) in a relevant field.
- Minimum 10 years of experience in a leadership role in a reputable educational institution, preferably in medical education.
- Strong communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills.
- Familiarity with relevant laws, regulations, and policies related to higher education.
- Demonstrated ability to develop and implement strategic plans, promote academic excellence, and foster a positive learning environment.
- Experience in managing human resources, financial resources, facilities, and student services.
- Ability to work collaboratively with diverse stakeholders and promote a culture of inclusivity and diversity.
