Job Description:
The Financial Management Specialist will be responsible for managing and overseeing the financial operations of the BIWRMD Project. The specific duties and responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:
- Developing and implementing financial management systems, policies, and procedures in compliance with relevant regulations and standards.
- Managing budgeting and financial reporting processes, including preparation of financial reports, financial analysis, and budget monitoring.
- Ensuring timely and accurate recording of financial transactions, and maintaining proper books of accounts.
- Managing cash flow, including forecasting and monitoring of funds, and ensuring efficient cash management.
- Providing financial advice and guidance to project staff and stakeholders.
- Conducting financial reviews and audits to ensure compliance with financial policies and procedures.
- Monitoring financial performance and identifying areas of improvement or risks.
- Coordinating with internal and external auditors to ensure timely completion of audits and implementation of audit recommendations.
- Providing training and capacity building to project staff on financial management best practices.
- Liaising with project partners, government agencies, and other stakeholders on financial matters.
- Ensuring compliance with donor financial requirements and reporting.
- Supporting the preparation of financial reports for submission to the project management and donor agencies.
