Job Description:
Higher Education Commission (HEC) Islamabad, a regulatory body responsible for promoting higher education in Pakistan, is seeking qualified and experienced candidates to fill the positions of Director, Deputy Director, and Assistant Director of Digital Library.
The Digital Library is an important initiative by HEC to provide access to online research materials and other digital resources to students, faculty, and researchers across Pakistan. The Director, Deputy Director, and Assistant Director will play a crucial role in managing and expanding this project.
Job Responsibilities:
- Director Digital Library:
- Develop and implement a strategic plan for the Digital Library.
- Manage the budget and resources for the Digital Library project.
- Coordinate with universities and other stakeholders to expand the reach of the Digital Library.
- Oversee the development of new digital resources and services.
- Ensure the security and integrity of the Digital Library's content.
- Deputy Director Digital Library:
- Assist the Director in developing and implementing the strategic plan for the Digital Library.
- Manage day-to-day operations of the Digital Library project.
- Develop and maintain relationships with universities and other stakeholders.
- Manage the budget and resources for specific areas of the Digital Library.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant policies and regulations.
- Assistant Director Digital Library:
- Assist the Deputy Director in managing the day-to-day operations of the Digital Library.
- Coordinate with universities and other stakeholders to promote the use of the Digital Library.
- Develop and maintain relationships with publishers and other content providers.
- Assist in the development of new digital resources and services.
- Provide technical support to users of the Digital Library.
Qualifications:
- Director Digital Library:
- PhD or Master's degree in Library Science or a related field.
- At least 15 years of experience in managing large-scale library projects.
- Experience in developing and implementing strategic plans.
- Knowledge of digital library technologies and standards.
- Deputy Director Digital Library:
- Master's degree in Library Science or a related field.
- At least 10 years of experience in managing library projects.
- Experience in budgeting and resource management.
- Knowledge of digital library technologies and standards.
- Assistant Director Digital Library:
- Master's degree in Library Science or a related field.
- At least 5 years of experience in managing library projects.
- Experience in coordinating with stakeholders.
- Knowledge of digital library technologies and standards.
