Job Title: Chowkidar
Description: The Local Government and Rural Development Department is currently seeking qualified candidates for the position of Chowkidar. If you have a minimum of Middle level education and at least 2 years of relevant work experience, this is an excellent opportunity to join our esteemed organization.
As a Chowkidar, you will be responsible for ensuring the security and safety of the premises, property, and personnel of the department. You will play a key role in maintaining a safe and secure environment, monitoring access points, and responding to security incidents or emergencies.
Responsibilities:
- Guard and patrol the premises, property, and personnel of the department
- Monitor access points and maintain records of incoming and outgoing personnel or visitors
- Conduct routine checks and inspections to identify and report any security breaches or violations
- Respond to security incidents, emergencies, or alarms in a timely and appropriate manner
- Maintain order and discipline within the premises and enforce departmental rules and regulations
- Assist in maintaining records of assets, inventory, and equipment
- Report any security concerns, irregularities, or suspicious activities to the appropriate authorities
- Monitor and operate security equipment, such as CCTV cameras or alarm systems
- Assist in the implementation of security plans, procedures, and guidelines
- Collaborate with other security personnel, departmental staff, and stakeholders as needed
Requirements:
- Minimum of Middle level education
- At least 2 years of relevant work experience, preferably in security or related field
- Good physical health and fitness for performing security duties
- Ability to work independently and follow instructions
- Strong observation and surveillance skills
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to handle security incidents or emergencies effectively
- Basic knowledge of security procedures, protocols, and equipment
- Familiarity with local laws and regulations related to security
- Integrity, reliability, and honesty in performing duties
- Ability to work in rotating shifts, weekends, or holidays as required
