Job Description:
The Director General will be responsible for providing strategic leadership and management to the Pakistan Science Foundation, a government organization under the Ministry of Science and Technology (MOST). The specific duties and responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:
- Developing and implementing strategic plans and policies to promote and advance the field of science and technology in Pakistan.
- Providing overall direction and supervision to the organization, including planning, organizing, and coordinating activities to achieve organizational goals and objectives.
- Monitoring and evaluating the performance of the organization, and recommending improvements in policies, programs, and operations.
- Leading and managing a team of professionals and technical staff, and providing guidance and support in their work.
- Building and maintaining effective relationships with national and international stakeholders, including academia, research institutions, government agencies, and other partners.
- Representing the organization at national and international forums, conferences, and meetings.
- Identifying opportunities for research and innovation projects, and facilitating their implementation.
- Ensuring compliance with relevant government rules, regulations, and policies.
- Providing expert advice and recommendations to the Ministry of Science and Technology (MOST) on matters related to science and technology.
- Preparing and presenting reports, briefings, and other documents to the Ministry of Science and Technology (MOST) and other stakeholders.
