Title: Director General - Environment Social Safeguard Specialist
Description:
Punjab Social Protection Authority (PSPA) is seeking a highly qualified and experienced individual to join their team as Director General - Environment Social Safeguard Specialist. The selected candidate will be responsible for overseeing and managing environmental and social safeguard aspects of PSPA's projects and programs.
Job Details:
Description: As the Director General - Environment Social Safeguard Specialist, you will be responsible for providing leadership, strategic direction, and technical expertise in the development and implementation of environmental and social safeguard policies, procedures, and guidelines for PSPA's projects and programs.
Responsibilities:
Develop and implement environmental and social safeguard frameworks, policies, and procedures in line with national and international standards.
Provide technical guidance and support to project teams in identifying, assessing, and managing environmental and social risks and impacts associated with PSPA's projects and programs.
Ensure compliance with relevant environmental and social safeguard regulations and guidelines, including conducting environmental and social impact assessments (ESIAs) and developing and implementing environmental and social management plans (ESMPs).
Coordinate with relevant stakeholders, including government agencies, local communities, and civil society organizations, to ensure effective communication and engagement in environmental and social safeguard matters.
Monitor and evaluate the implementation of environmental and social safeguard measures, and report on progress and performance to senior management and other relevant stakeholders.
Provide capacity building and training to PSPA staff and project partners on environmental and social safeguard issues.
Requirements:
Bachelor's, Master's, or MS degree in environmental sciences, social sciences, or a related field.
Minimum of 10 years of relevant experience in environmental and social safeguard management, preferably in the development sector or government organizations.
Strong understanding of national and international environmental and social safeguard policies, regulations, and guidelines.
Experience in conducting environmental and social impact assessments (ESIAs) and developing and implementing environmental and social management plans (ESMPs).
Excellent analytical, communication, and leadership skills.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
Proficiency in English and Urdu languages.
Willingness to travel within Pakistan as required.
