Job Description: The Provincial TB Control Program has announced job positions for various roles. These temporary job opportunities are located in Peshawar, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa KPK, Pakistan. The expected last date for applications is 07 July, 2023, or as per the newspaper advertisement.

The available positions are:

1. District TB Officer
2. Medical Imaging Technician
3. Community Support Officer
4. Lab Technician Genexpert
5. DR TB Treatment Support Coordinator
6. Support Staff
7. Lab Technician BSL II Lab

As an employee in one of these positions, your responsibilities may include:

1. District TB Officer:
   • Overseeing and coordinating TB control activities at the district level.
   • Planning and implementing TB control strategies and programs.
   • Monitoring and evaluating program performance.
   • Training and capacity building of healthcare staff.
   • Ensuring compliance with national TB guidelines and protocols.
2. Medical Imaging Technician:
   • Performing medical imaging procedures such as X-rays and CT scans.
   • Operating and maintaining imaging equipment.
   • Assisting radiologists and physicians in interpreting images.
   • Ensuring patient safety and comfort during procedures.
   • Maintaining accurate records of imaging studies.
3. Community Support Officer:
   • Engaging with local communities to raise awareness about TB prevention and control.
   • Conducting community outreach and education programs.
   • Facilitating access to TB diagnostic and treatment services.
   • Providing counseling and support to TB patients and their families.
   • Collaborating with local stakeholders and organizations.
4. Lab Technician Genexpert:
   • Performing diagnostic tests using the Genexpert machine for TB detection.
   • Collecting and processing patient samples.
   • Analyzing test results and reporting findings.
   • Maintaining laboratory equipment and supplies.
   • Following standard laboratory procedures and safety protocols.
5. DR TB Treatment Support Coordinator:
   • Providing support and coordination for patients with drug-resistant TB.
   • Monitoring treatment adherence and outcomes.
   • Assisting in the management of side effects and complications.
   • Collaborating with healthcare providers to ensure comprehensive care.
   • Maintaining accurate records and reporting on treatment progress.
6. Support Staff:
   • Assisting in administrative and logistical tasks.
   • Providing general support to the TB control program.
   • Handling documentation, filing, and data entry.
   • Assisting in organizing meetings and events.
   • Performing other duties as assigned.
7. Lab Technician BSL II Lab:
   • Conducting laboratory tests for TB diagnosis and monitoring.
   • Performing quality control procedures and ensuring accuracy of results.
   • Managing laboratory inventory and reagents.
   • Following biosafety guidelines and maintaining a clean working environment.
   • Documenting and reporting laboratory findings.

Qualifications and Requirements:

• Minimum education requirements vary based on the position (Primary, Matric, Intermediate, MBBS, BDS, BS).
• Minimum of 2 years of relevant work experience.
• Familiarity with TB control programs and protocols (for relevant positions).
• Knowledge of medical imaging techniques and equipment (for Medical Imaging Technician).
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a team and collaborate with stakeholders.
• Attention to detail and ability to follow protocols and guidelines.
• Proficiency in computer applications and basic office software.
